Gillett is located at 44°53′23″N 88°18′23″W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.37 square miles (3.55 km²), of which, 1.36 square miles (3.52 km²) is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 km²) is water.
As of the census of 2010, there were 1,386 people, 592 households, and 352 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,019.1 inhabitants per square mile (393.5/km²). There were 656 housing units at an average density of 482.4 per square mile (186.3/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 91.0% White, 0.1% African American, 3.4% Native American, 4.3% from other races, and 1.2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.1% of the population.
